About

Phil and his dog Louie have found new sanctuary in a small ranch house on the high desert of NW New Mexico. Having been influenced by the spirituality of many cultures and living near Zuni and Navajo reservations, Phil has a unique perspective on life. He has studied several ancient Native American cultures and is a known expert on the Mogollon culture which existed in a large part of the Southwest until the 1300’s. Because of cultural and climatic changes, over the next 100 years, they were assimilated into the Zuni and Hopi tribes.

Phil spends much of his time hiking and exploring the canyonlands near his home. There he and Louie have discovered several pueblo ruins. He is most comfortable in these old ruins as they still seem to hold the spirits of those long past people. Meditation in these ‘power spots’ has given Phil a connection to the past which he is able to pass along to the present.

Your generous donations will help Phil continue his work among the reservations and canyonlands of his home.  Contact Phil at Phil@danceswithlouie or at his snail mail address:  Phil Snyder, P.O. Box 595, Ramah, NM 87321.

Hi Phil, I clicked on your site while reading Karen’s new alert which I read very keenly. I am glad I did and would like to say that it is incredible to live ones life in a way one would want to..so far removed from the “way to be “. The true way is ones own way. You have acknowledged Louie which is so wonderful. I have 2 dogs and they are such an important part of my world.May you and Louie stay well and may the stars above always shine bright!

I also found my way here via Karen’s new alert, and am glad I ended up here. The perfect message at the perfect time :-)
Thank you for your pictures, your words, for sharing your connection to the Ancient Energies.
May you and Louie be blessed in all ways…

Hi Phil, I have found your blog reading Karen… Welcome in the family! “The difficulty lies, not in the new ideas, but in escaping from the old ones, which ramify, for those brought up as most of us have been, into every corner of our minds” (J.M.Keynes). A dedication for you and Karen:

    THE WISH

    May the happiness
    Fill your life
    And remember everyday
That it can’t rain all time.

    In the spring mornings
    Follow with fun
    The awakening of nature
    And the shinin’ sun.

    Don’t think the world
It’s ready to jokes on you
    But do all the way
    This ain’t be true.

    In summer afternoons
Breathe deeply the air after the storm
    And enjoy freeing the mind
    Those few moments of cold.

With the ones you love and the next
    Be always true
    Respect for others
    Is the greatest virtue.

    In autumn evenings
    See the first fogs
    Surrounding the land
And start to erase all of your thoughts.

Being humble will help you with strenght
    Every day
    Even when these things
    You must send’em away.

And these thoughts may help you
To see the dark in the winter nights
    With the same tranquillity
With wich you’ll follow the spring sun light.

Hi Phil ~ Thank you so much for your wonderful pictures of the SW and I love how well you express yourself. I have been following Karen’s Energy Alerts only since the first of this year, so I have been following her saga with you since that time. It is wonderful to read your version of all that has transpired between you. Even though I have been following her site for less than a year, I feel you both are already family, though we have never met! Many blessings to you and yours as we all go through this transition together!

Hi Phil, just linked from Karen’s website and love the photos and views of a freer way of life. Dances with Wolves is 1 of my favourite films, plus the book 13 Moons by Charles Frasier, (he wrote Cold Mountain but 13 Moons is much better) which I read last winter. Your photos and blog reminds me of those sentiments and the spirit that is within them. Thanx for reminding me of what is truly important.

Greetings to you and blessings on your journey. Your words touched me and my heart felt your struggle and joy. I respect the Ancient Ones and have had many wonderful encounters of their presence. Your sharing is unique and your companion Louie is a special relationship. More, it is wonderful that you and Karen have reunited and growing more powerful together. Your site is wonderful and friendly. It is real and from the heart. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I send you this Indian Prayer for your journey of new beginnings:

“May the long time sun shine upon you.
    May love surround you
And the pure light within you
    Guide your way”….
